Hyttefrokost

Hyttefrokost by Sia Siamos piles ripe tomatoes, grapes and a carafe of water against green kitchen tiles, drawn in bold, joyful colour. The title means cabin breakfast in Norwegian, and the drawing has that holiday ease: big tomatoes heaped on a striped board, cherry tomatoes scattering across a lilac table, a yellow checked cloth thrown down rather than laid. Every outline is quick and confident, closer to a sketchbook page than a formal still life.

Sia Siamos is a half Greek, half Norwegian illustrator living in Bergen, with a soft spot for still life, food and everyday moments. She came to illustration from graphic design, drawn to the quiet details that say the most, and works digital or analogue as the subject asks.
