Vinkveld

Vinkveld by Sia Siamos paints a wine evening in thick, glossy strokes: a glass of red, green olives, dark grapes and vine tomatoes against checked tiles. A bottle stands in the foreground with the cork already adrift, which tells you where the evening is heading. Vinkveld means wine evening, and the brushwork agrees, thicker and moodier than Siamos's other table scenes, with the checked tiles dissolving into loose strokes behind.
