Pines Under Starlight by Markus Naarttijärvi is a night photograph of snow-laden pines under a clear, star-scattered sky. The whole picture sits in deep blue, with pale snow in the foreground and the trees dark against the sky. The stars are faint and scattered across the whole sky rather than gathered in one place. Nothing moves: a hushed, cold-clear winter night, held still. A portrait-format print.
