Sunday Brunch by Hedvig Wallin lays a breakfast table in pastel: yoghurt with berries, croissants, cucumber sandwiches and a cup of coffee on a blue cloth. Seen from above, the table curves against green kitchen tiles and a pink wall, with a jar of jam, a halved grapefruit and a bunch of cut flowers crowding the edges. Drawn in ink and watercolour with a deliberately wonky perspective, it has the loose, handmade warmth of a morning nobody is rushing, and the more you look, the more turns up on the table.

About Hedvig Wallin
Gothenburg, Sweden
Keep the drawing simple, let the perspective go wonky, and pack in detail for the second look.
Hedvig Wallin
Hedvig Wallin is an illustrator and graphic designer from Gothenburg, Sweden, who began illustrating children’s books at eighteen and still does, alongside editorial work, murals, logos, labels and posters. She draws on naive art for its childlike simplicity, mixing ink, pencil, soft pastel, watercolour and digital media into playful, detail-rich images with a wonky perspective, where something new turns up each time you look.
