Funny Mermaid by Christina Hägerfors puts a mermaid just below the waterline, reaching up towards the float of an angler on a jetty. Behind the jetty stands a red boathouse. Above the water are a ferry, gulls and a big yellow sun; below it, fish and halftone texture, in a palette kept to teal, yellow, orange and cream. “I have a thing for mermaids and maritime imagery since forever,” Christina says. Here she wanted a retro feel and simple colours.
